Molly Bridgewood, left and Lauren Peate from the Innovation Agency celebrate the IIP Gold award

Staff at the Innovation Agency are celebrating an accolade which confirms they are in one of the best places to work.

Health Innovation North West Coast has achieved the Investors in People gold award for the second time, recognising investment in its people, and a culture which demonstrates a clear set of values.

Investors in People is a community interest company that accredits organisations and promotes continuous improvement and employee recognition. It has accredited 15,000 organisations in 75 countries, but only 17 per cent of those have achieved the gold standard.

Health Innovation North West Coast achieved the gold accreditation in the 'We invest in people' category following a detailed evaluation that assessed performance in such areas as staff engagement, organisational culture and work practices. Gold status was first achieved in 2017.

Innovation Agency Chief Executive Dr Phil Jennings said: “We’re really thrilled to receive this award because it confirms that we value our people and give them the best support possible to make this a great place to work.

“We have a fantastic team and I am really proud of their commitment and enthusiasm – and their wide range of skills and capabilities which we apply to supporting our health and care partners in the region.”

Molly Bridgewood, a Project Support Officer at the Innovation Agency, said: “I’ve worked here for four and a half years and I’ve always felt that I’m part of a team, that my voice is heard and my ideas listened to. My colleagues have always been extremely supportive, supporting and guiding me through my apprenticeship and in my day-to-day role.”

Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate the Innovation Agency. Gold accreditation on ‘We invest in people’ is a fantastic effort for any organisation and places the Innovation Agency in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of people.”

Health Innovation North West Coast employs around 70 people who come from a diverse range of backgrounds and work across Lancashire, South Cumbria, Cheshire and Merseyside. Health Innovation North West Coast offices are in Sci-Tech Daresbury in Halton.
