The search is on for the North West Coast’s most inspiring clinical research and innovation teams and individuals whose work is making a difference to people’s lives.
The North West Coast Research and Innovation Awards 2020 are open for nominations. The awards will celebrate success and the excellent work being undertaken in health and care across the region, demonstrating the impact of clinical research and innovation on patient and social care.
The deadline for entries is Friday 6 December 2019. The awards can be entered online at www.nwcawards.co.uk
The awards are hosted by the Innovation Agency, NIHR Clinical Research Network North West Coast (CRN NWC), and Applied Research Collaboration North West Coast (ARC NWC).
The awards are open to NHS organisations, industry and academic partners, third sector organisations, local authorities and other collaborations in health innovation.
The award categories are:
- Research student of the year
- The Ruth Young award for research implementation
- Award for reducing health inequalities
- Award for research capacity building
- Transformation award
- Culture for innovation award
- Patient safety innovation award
- Partnership in innovation award
- Research rising star of the year
- Research team of the year
- Excellence in commercial life science research
- Researcher of the year
- Outstanding contribution to Patient and Public Involvement (PPI)
Innovation Agency Chief Executive Dr Liz Mear said: “Year by year we’ve seen innovation in health and technology across the North West Coast go from strength to strength, making a real and lasting impact on health and care for patients in the region.
“This has been reflected in the variety and quality of nominations for the North West Coast Research and Innovation Awards over the past few years. I welcome nominations for the 2020 awards, and look forward to showcasing some of the word-class work being undertaken locally.”
