We had an enthusiastic group of innovators and partners at Momentum Accelerator's pitch day at Sci-Tech Daresbury. Innovators included: Cyted Health, Optonet, Damibu, Health Diagnostics Ltd and GP Specialists; and partners: Softcat, Quiddity, Praetura Ventures, Value Match and Hill Dickinson.

Health Innovation North West Coast welcomed the first cohort of our inaugural Momentum Accelerator at a ‘pitch’ event.

Momentum is designed to boost health and life science innovators toward additional transformative adoption and spread.

Indi Singh, Commercial Programme Manager at Health Innovation North West Coast, said: "One of the most valuable things about Momentum Accelerator was the engagement with partners. Partners who have a huge amount of expertise, skills and knowledge that they were willing to share with companies who really that support for development and growth."

At the pitch event, participating companies presented their innovation and their value proposition to the group of peers, partners and Health Innovation North West Coast staff. The innovators used learnings from the earlier 8 weeks of the programme, and advice from partners.

After a short presentation, verbal feedback was given on the spot, followed by written feedback after the event.

Watch this video from the event to learn more about the value of the Momentum Accelerator.

Feedback from the programme

"Now I have much more knowledge of how to approach [the NHS market] and how to get visability, and how to get procured and spread as a company." - Innovator Teresa Matilla-Rodríguez, Director, Optonet

"You know you have got someone to go to for the help you need, when you need it, and really just give yourself the best chance of success in developing your business." - Delivery partner Richard Parker, Hill Dickinson

Thank you to our partners and innovators who formed such a rich and engaging 2024 cohort. We continue to support these companies to collaborate with system stakeholders to increase the chances of spread and adoption.

Momentum fills a gap in the accelerator market by serving companies with established innovations, often already being used by the NHS.

Recruitment for the 2025 cohort runs from mid May to 14 July 2025. For more information, visit the main Momentum Accelerator programme page.
