With more research-active trusts shown to improve outcomes for patients, and the Care Quality Commission now including clinical research activity within its remit for trust inspections, the impetus for a greater focus on research has never been greater.

This afternoon workshop, run jointly by RCP and Innovation considered these questions. The half-day event will also saw RCP launch ‘The case for trusts becoming more research active and innovative’. This will outline the many benefits of research and some practical steps CEOs of trusts can take.
