The summit was aimed at all Maternity and Neonatal providers, system leaders and Commissioners to review the newly published BAPM “Framework for Practice on the Perinatal Management of Extreme Preterm Birth before 27 Weeks of Gestation”.
This framework recommends a risk-based approach (graded from extremely high risk to moderate) to clinical decision making for babies born between 22 and 27 weeks of gestation. This is one of the most challenging aspects of perinatal medicine requiring clear understanding of how to make decisions about the most vulnerable babies in partnership with parents in the light of the information that is now available.
Summit by Innovation Agency, Health Innovation Manchester, NW Neonatal Operational Delivery Network and the Strategic Clinical Network.
