Care homes residents are some of the most frail and vulnerable people in our society, often meaning that these individuals can be at significantly greater risk from the impact of illness and physical deterioration; this is demonstrated by the devastating impact that COVID-19 has had on many care homes across the country.
 
Early identification, escalation and appropriate treatment of deterioration is key to improving outcomes for these individuals.
