Hear from Tracey Neville MBE, former England netball international and a former England head coach, in what proved to be a fascinating exploration of the power of authentic and compassionate leadership.

Tracey helped England to win their first Commonwealth gold medal in 2018. She turned around a downtrodden, underfunded programme to create one of the greatest team triumphs of the last decade. Tracey will draw on her experiences as a player, coach, and leader when delivering this session.

We also heard from Donna Hall, former Chief Executive of Wigan Council who implemented The Deal, a radically different, holistic approach to public service delivery.

The Deal ensured that, despite significantly reduced funding, no frontline services were cut, and outcomes - particularly around health and social care - actually improved, changing the lives of local residents for the better.

The event was chaired by Sue Holden, chief exec of AQUA, who in her previous role as National Director for Intensive Support at NHS England and NHS Improvement, has carried out research analysing the role of a CEO in leading the improvement of challenged NHS organisations.
