NHS North West Leadership Academy, Mersey Internal Audit Agency (MIAA), Advancing Quality Alliance (Aqua), North West Employers (NWE) and the North West Association of Directors of Adults Social Care Services (ADASS) work in partnership to bring you a series of collaborative masterclasses. Together they are an influential partnership formed from cross sector organisations in the North West that represent the NHS, health and social care and local government.
Our NHS is founded on the principles of care, compassion and kindness. In this session, Susy Cook and Richard Tyler ask how this kindness deficit became our reality and how as a system, have we stopped caring enough. They will share some of their thoughts and experiences of working across executive teams and organisations and where they have seen a moral vacuum in relation to kindness and speaking the truth.
You will leave the session
- Having considered what our systems need in order to facilitate more truth, more honesty and more kindness, improving experiences for our teams, our patients and our partners
- Reflected on the shadow side of kindness
- Learnt about William Bridges’s model for Transition – encouraging you to take this back into your working and personal lives
- With understanding as to the story’s, we tell ourselves about the barriers to kindness and honesty (peeling away the old stories of our survival personalities)
- With curiosity and wonder as to what will support you to bring an extra dose of kindness to yourself and those around you
