System partners from Cheshire & Merseyside and Lancashire & South Cumbria came together to explore common challenges within childrens and young peoples mental health services. Together we worked to design a future state that incorporates a multi agency needs-led approach, digital innovation, and integrated care concepts using a complex change system-wide transformation methodology.

A detailed report around this work can be found here: Innovation Insights: A service model for children and young people's mental health

A corresponding gap analysis was undertaken by mapping the current state of services in comparison to the transformational ambition. As a result the identified areas for improvement have been adopted by both ICBs and included in their mental health delivery plans: Health Innovation North West Coast - System leaders adopt mental health services pathway

Current programme

In Cheshire & Merseyside one of the identified areas for improvement was an improved service offer for young adults.  We are currently taking a Design Thinking approach in a series of workshops to imagine a better future state for our young adults, tackling some of the tricky issues around transition, culture and making our services relevant to those that need to access them.
