July 2025 – Optimising lipid management in Cheshire and Merseyside
This kick-off webinar was delivered on 23 July by local clinical experts in cardiovascular disease and lipid management. They provided a pathway approach to managing patients with high cholesterol.
November 2025 – Nutrition and dyslipidaemia
The Lunch and Learn webinar on 12 November focussed on 'Nutrition and Dyslipidaemia –Why the EAS/ESC 2025 guidelines are wrong’ and was delivered by Dr Tom Butler, Senior Lecturer in Nutrition and Health (Edge Hill University) and Chair of the British Dietetic Association Cardiovascular Specialist Group.
February 2026 – Familial Hypercholesterolaemia / C&M FH Service
The Lunch and Learn webinar on 25 February focussed on Familial Hypercholesterolaemia (FH), the Cheshire & Merseyside FH Service and a Primary Care Network’s approach to case finding of possible FH patients. The webinar was delivered by Dr Shirley Bowles (Consultant Chemical Pathologist at Countess of Chester and the Clinical Lead C&M FH Service), Joanne Brown (Lead Nurse C&M FH Service) and Daniel Inwood (Lead Pharmacist at SWAGGA PCN, Liverpool).
March 2026 – Complex Cases
The Lunch and Learn webinar on 25 March focussed on the collaborative cardiac lipid MDT, including outlining the impact these weekly MDTs have had already and talking through several case studies. The webinar was delivered by Luqman Mohamoud (Advanced Cardiology Pharmacist) and Lorraine Fyldes (Lead Cardiac Rehab Clinical Nurse Specialist), both based at the University Hospitals of Liverpool Group.
